A note about the book of Job

Have you wondered when the events in the book of Job took place?  I did, so I went to Google to look it up.  The search brought me to a Bible commentary site where I read that it that was set in an early time-frame where wealth was measured in land and livestock but that it is just a story with a moral or a parable.  I pondered that, but had trouble believing it.  Recently I was in the book of Ezekiel and God mentions Job.  In chapter 14 God is talking about the destruction He will bring on Israel due to their sins and that no one would be able to turn away His wrath.

Ezekiel 14:14
Even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.

If God is talking about Job as a real person is there any reason for us to doubt it?  Another consideration is that when a parable is told there typically aren't any names used.  "A certain man", "a land owner" and "a far country" are the kind of descriptions normally used.
